The breeze coming down from the hill keeps the place comfortable, and even though it’s close to the road, the fan drowns out enough noise to sleep. You can sit on the veranda and watch people pass by. It’s only a short walk from the centre, but far enough from the bustle. For El Nido, where prices stay high all year, this is a comfortable, very budget-friendly place for a night or two. We paid 900 for 2 double bed rooms, which worked well for our family. There’s no hot water in the shower, but the dispenser has plenty for tea all day, and we used some in a bucket to bathe our little ones. The staff really make Mochilleros. Wifi?.. well, it is El Nido.. book everything before.

The rooms are large, but ours was dirty and full of insects. The WiFi never worked, either. They charged more than the price we expected. When we asked for the extra money back, they said it wasn't their fault and refused. The service was terrible, and it was more expensive with worse service than any other hostel or hotel in El Nido.

The good thing is the location: it’s about a minute from restaurants, El Nido Bay area, and banks, and 4 to 6 minutes from the bus/van terminal. But we arrived at 2 am and the contact number listed on Agoda was wrong, which caused us a problem. I hadn’t asked for an updated number, though I hope they correct it. Check-in and check-out times are strict, at 12 nn and 2 pm. Going beyond those times costs 150/hr, so I wouldn’t book through Agoda if you need to arrive at a particular hour.

There’s a nice deck where you can sit in the evening and catch the breeze, and the guy at the front desk was great. The tours they arrange are good and discounted, too. It’s cheap, so you get what you pay for.

It’s budget friendly, but during a power interruption in El Nido, the generator didn’t run overnight while I was trying to sleep. There were lots of mosquitoes, too.
