The staff were nice, and it was quiet here, without the motorcycle and people noise you get in the town center. But the rooms were really dirty, with mold and dust all over, including a very dusty ceiling fan. The sink and shower were moldy too, and the AC smelled bad and was noisy. Breakfast wasn't very tasty. The area felt shabby and dirty, near a hostel and poor locals.
The owner of the house where we were supposed to stay had passed away, which was disappointing to learn after we arrived in El Nido before typhoon Tino. We were moved to Layang Layang instead. Blue greeted us and was extremely polite and helpful the whole time. The owner deserves credit for having such courteous staff. I'd definitely recommend it to friends and acquaintances.
We loved how peaceful it was, a little away from the center, yet still within walking distance of town. The walk had lovely sea and sunset views. You can also rent a scooter from the hotel for 400 a day. Our room was big and very clean, with enough space to sit inside if the weather turned bad. The staff were so helpful, and having breakfast on the roof each morning with mountain and sea views was great. We had the best time here and really recommend it.
I got food poisoning while eating out, and the staff checked on me, cared for me, and made sure I was comfortable. They made me feel at home, like family. They even prepared a warm breakfast at 4:30 AM before I checked out, which was so thoughtful. The rooms were clean and cozy, with beautiful views, and the rooftop was a lovely place to relax. Housekeeping was excellent, the location was convenient, and the hotel felt safe and welcoming. I loved my stay and would happily come back to El Nido. (Das)
We stayed two extra nights after enjoying it so much, and Lizza helped arrange the extension even though we had to switch rooms. She was thoughtful and well organized, and we could have breakfast at our preferred time with a free table waiting. The breakfast terrace was peaceful and had a stunning view. Breakfast itself was carefully prepared with dietary needs in mind, including options for vegetarians and vegans. We especially appreciated the tofu dish made just for us, even though it isn't usually on the menu. Our spacious room had a lovely balcony for relaxing in the evening, and the coastal road made every arrival and departure feel special. We have a warm place in our hearts for Lizza and her team at Layang Layang Home, and highly recommend staying there in El Nido.
