Kalachuchi Beach Resort

The food was a real highlight. We ate dinner here twice, and the mango chicken curry was among the best I’ve had. The chicken was great too, and the prices felt very reasonable for the quality. It’s set in a quiet spot at the very north end of the island, with almost no cell reception. We liked being able to disconnect. The WiFi came and went, but that didn’t bother us. The pool is beautiful, and our room was roomy and comfortable. Marcel, the Swiss owner, and the whole team were so welcoming and attentive. Breakfast starts at 8am and you can have it any time after that, which made things feel relaxed. We had a fantastic stay and would happily come back.

Our booking through Agoda never reached the resort, which caused a problem during our three-day stay in the week of NYE 2025. Marcel and Jessica worked hard to sort it out and find us another place to stay. Even though we were lodging elsewhere, they still honored the free breakfast included in our reservation. My husband and I were amazed by how they handled it. The resort itself is quiet and well kept, a nice place to get away from the city. The food was delicious, and the staff were extremely friendly. Marcel and his wife Jessica are wonderful hosts, and we’ll book here again when we return to Siquijor.

Of the five places we stayed during our first trip to the Philippines, this was our favorite. The team treated us like family and called us by name. Service was great, and the free breakfast was lovely. I’d pick the omelet or pancake. Our room was beautiful and quiet, with water, sodas, beer, and snacks supplied daily. They also offered laundry service. Scooters were available to rent for getting around the small island. If you’re planning a visit to Siquijor, I’d absolutely recommend Kalachuchi Beach Resort.

The people working here seemed genuinely happy together, almost like a group of friends, and that warm atmosphere made us feel at home. It says a lot about the place. The restaurant was a highlight and served our favorite dish from the whole Philippines trip, the mango curry. We also loved the quiet north side location. The property is spacious and thoughtfully laid out, with a lovely pool for relaxing. Our villa was huge, spotless, and well maintained. A real hidden gem.
