Even with the low price and Cloud 8 right across the way, I wouldn't come back. The rooms felt cramped and smelled strongly of damp, and the mattress was worn, though manageable for a single night. The worst part was furniture being painted with a very toxic-smelling paint that reached the rooms. We asked them to stop, but they carried on for two days. That kind of work should be done somewhere ventilated or with less harmful materials.

The staff were so nice, and the location is really good. Hot and cold drinking water is free, and the rooms are basic, but fair for what you pay. Bring earplugs and slippers and you should be fine. About the cockroaches, they're common in tropical places and come in from outside. An old towel tucked along the gap under the door should keep them out.

The ocean view from my clean, comfortable room was lovely, and I spent nine days at ecohotels in Cloud 9. Marlo at the front desk was especially helpful, and the staff were friendly in general. I really enjoyed the time there. It helped me find myself and appreciate Siargao's amazing beauty. I'd recommend the hotel for its location and service.

The rooms were kept very clean, thanks to the careful housekeeping. At Dormitelsph (Cloud 9), the staff were also consistently polite and welcoming, greeting guests warmly.

For surfers, it's a solid place that does the job. It isn't completely clean, of course, but the bed is good and the staff are 10/10. You get what you pay for.
