Avenue 5 Hotel

We keep coming back whenever my husband, baby, and I need an overnight stay in Kalibo. The room is comfortable, and the counter staff are friendly and easy to talk to. It’s a very cheap place, so don’t expect a fancy hotel, but I’d recommend it to backpackers.

The parking setup was poor, and the customer service left me very disappointed. We arrived with a disabled person, but nobody offered us an accessible room. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you’re driving. For Kalibo, I’d look elsewhere. I’d give less than one star if I could.

We stayed for a week, and there was no generator, which was a real problem with brownouts happening almost every day in Kalibo. The room stayed dusty even after we asked for it to be cleaned, especially under the bed and in the corners. The bedding made us itchy, and my two kids slipped on the slippery CR floor. The Wi-Fi was awful too. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

During our three days here for Ati Atihan Festival, I forgot my jewelry when checking out. Afterward, they wouldn’t admit that I’d left it there, which was really disappointing. The watch, two bracelets, and two rings weren’t very expensive, but the dishonesty bothered me. Keep an eye on your things if you stay here.
