The Apple Peach House

By the time I got through to Agoda myself and was told a refund would take 30-45 business days, it was nearly midnight. We were left scrambling to find somewhere to stay in peak season. The whole trip had turned into one of the most stressful travel experiences I’ve had, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. We’d booked two days ahead through Agoda, so this wasn’t a last-minute reservation. If the hotel only received confirmation on the day we arrived, that’s between them and Agoda. We shouldn’t have had to deal with the consequences. After driving 10 hours from Batangas to Legazpi, we reached The Apple Peach House around 10 PM with kids and a senior, only to be told there were no rooms for us. Nobody had called or warned us, even though my number was on the booking. They asked us to wait in the lobby while they looked for another hotel. It was hot and humid with no air conditioning. After 15-20 minutes without an update, I went back to reception to ask what was going on. I asked for our money back so we could find somewhere else, and was told a refund was possible only after taking out Agoda’s fees. That felt unfair when the booking problem was theirs. Someone on the phone, maybe the manager or owner, said that was all they could do and told me to cancel from my side. Anyone who has used Agoda knows cancelling after check-in time usually means the fees aren’t refunded. It seemed like they were trying to wash their hands of the situation. I even showed the staff our confirmation with the full amount paid, but they still said they had “no basis for computation.” They offered only a partial refund excluding Agoda’s fees, and again told me to cancel myself. I also overheard staff being told to offer us the only two small rooms left, saying they were “big enough.” We were 12 people. That didn’t make sense and only added to the stress. It felt like a last-minute scramble, and I doubt the rooms were ready. Even if they were, two rooms weren’t a workable option after such a long day. There was no real solution or initiative to contact Agoda and escalate the issue. I was the one who called Agoda; they only got involved after I filed a complaint. To clarify the hotel’s response, we arrived at about 10 PM after that 10-hour drive and were told on the spot there were no rooms. No warning, no call, and no effort to reach us, although my contact number was on the reservation. I had to return to the desk after waiting 15-20 minutes because nobody came to update us. We were left without rooms, nearly at midnight in peak season, and the staff showed no urgency or accountability. We had to handle everything ourselves.

The towels smelled and didn’t seem very clean. It’s a good place, but there’s room for improvement.

There’s a little coffee and tea stand outside, and I really liked the designs, paintings, and rooms. The staff were kind and helpful. The main letdown was the room bathroom: it felt outdated compared with the rooms, and the heater wasn’t working.

A good budget hotel, with friendly staff, strong Wi-Fi, and drinking water. Jeepneys are only a two-minute walk away. I ordered food from Angel's Pizza, and they were fine with me eating it in my room. The place is very Instagram-worthy too, and worked well for me as someone working from home.
