Meaco Royal Hotel - Lipa

I had a very bad experience with the service. The front desk officer wasn’t approachable or attentive to guest questions, and was just on her phone. Nobody should stay at this hotel.

A great affordable hotel in Lipa Batanggas, close to Lipa Palengke. The location is very practical, with groceries and fast food nearby, and the rooms were clean. The staff were great too.

Lipa city is well worth a visit, and we managed to stay two nights. As of when I wrote this in February 2024, though, this acceptable budget hotel had a serious cockroach problem. Staff were trying to keep the rooms clean and disinfected, but so far getting rid of them seemed impossible. Bring large plastic bags to protect your belongings. Things may have improved by the time you visit, and I hope they have. I hate leaving a bad review, but wanted to mention it. If you’re also going to Batangas city, we’re currently at Meaco Royal Hotel there. It’s a delight, reasonably priced, and free from roaches. The franchise locations all seem identical, with friendly staff throughout. For Lipa, this is the only hotel within the city proper.

A few drawbacks: the Wi-Fi is weak, and there’s no elevator, so you’ll need to use the stairs to reach the second or third floor. The staff were polite, and the room was clean with good linens and pillows. There’s hot and cold water in the shower, plus 24-hour security. It’s near fast food, the market, and a church. It’s the cheapest hotel in Lipa, though not really one for budget travelers.
