My Quiet Place at The Beacon - Makati

The price was the one good thing, though I'm still not sure it was worth it, even being cheap. The room was small, which I expected, and getting up or down took a long time because the elevators were constantly in use. But the roaches were the main problem. I killed several and they kept appearing, and I woke up in the middle of the night with one on my face.

We all slept well in the comfortable bed and pullout, me, my husband and our two kids. The studio looked brand new, was spotless, and smelled lovely when I first walked in. I also felt fine leaving our valuables inside, since the safe was big enough for my kids' laptop and gadgets. The condo has a huge pool, spa and gym, and there are lots of shops and restaurants just around the corner. It's good value and especially handy for staying near the airport. I highly recommend it and would love to come back.

Getting around was easy, with public transport close by and shops and restaurants in the area. The studio was cozy, kept in good condition, and had what I needed for a comfortable stay. I had a fantastic time and would recommend it to anyone wanting a convenient, comfortable place.

I keep booking here because the housekeeping is excellent, the location works well, and the unit itself is clean, comfortable and thoughtfully laid out. I worry that saying so will make it harder to find dates for future stays, but other travelers deserve high standards too. I usually stay in 3014, and I've also been in the identical condo next door. Both have the same decor. I took photos of my unit and moved my luggage and things out of the way to show my first impression. The studio uses its small space well. It's very clean and organized, with a flat screen local cable TV, DVD player, remotes and outlets on shelves opposite the bed. There are spots for a phone or tablet, plus smaller shelves for things like jewelry and watches. The newer safe keeps valuables secure, and I use its top to sort receipts. The quiet air conditioner is remote controlled and can make the room quite cold. There's a cabinet for clothes, a mini fridge below it, and a kitchenette with a stovetop, microwave, plates, glasses, utensils, hot water pot, sink and dishwashing supplies. Coffee, sugar and cream are provided for a day or so. The layout makes good use of the compact unit. The bathroom, or Comfort Room as it's commonly called in Manila, is very clean. The shower heater can be adjusted, and hygiene supplies are provided for a day or two. The double bolt locks, peephole and fire extinguisher are reassuring. Wi-Fi lets you contact the owner through Viber if you need help. For an immediate emergency, I'd recommend having your own phone or asking for help in the lobby. The information is provided, so read it. Beacon Security watches the entrances and exits and keeps an eye out for people who don't belong. They're friendly and concerned about residents' safety, so treat them kindly. I've never needed help, but it's good to know what to do. The location is near old Makati cinema square mall for bargains and WalterMart Mall with theatres. GreenBelt and Glorietta are close too, though you'll have to walk, and there are lots of food options with a 7-11 downstairs. The modern, attractive style makes it a comfortable retreat. It's excellent for one person and can fit two adults. Be sure to check that you're booking with makati accomodation, since other condo owners here also rent their units.
