Ritz Astor Hotel

The room Wi-Fi was quite fast, and I’d consider staying here again if I return to Manila. The room did have a couple of problems: the AC wasn’t working properly, and there was no hot water in the shower. I requested a quiet side when booking and appreciated that they granted it, given all the clubs and bars nearby. There are also plenty of shops and restaurants in the area, but the train and other public transportation are far away, so I relied on taxis often. They took a 2000 peso deposit and returned it. Security is substantial, so guests you bring have to be registered.

My mom and I stayed for almost two weeks and enjoyed the whole hotel. The room was clean, the hall was neat, and reception was very polite. We especially liked the bar, and all the staff were kind to us. The service was great. We’ll definitely be back soon, and I’d recommend it to anyone in Manila.

The staff were pleasant and helpful, and the hotel was fairly decent. There’s a club nearby, though, so music carries on late into the night and early morning. You may also see some roaches and ants, so I’d bring spray.

The cafe breakfast had some really nice dishes, a cut above the usual Philippino breakfast. The hotel feels fairly new, with friendly staff and a relaxed, quiet atmosphere. I liked the beds, and the rooms are a good size. Some of them have a great view.
