We fell asleep to waves crashing right under this unique resort, which is built out over the water. The snorkeling just outside was amazing, with reef and giant clams only 30m away. There are hot springs and waterfalls up the road, too. And the Filipino food served here was easily the best I had in the country.

I wasn’t staying at the resort. I’d wandered in while exploring the island, hoping to find somewhere to eat. Noel, the caretaker, was incredibly friendly. Although he wasn’t serving food there, he pointed me toward a place to get some and said I could come back and eat at the resort. It happened to be his birthday, and he was spending time with friends. He invited me to join them if I returned with food, and let me look around the property and enjoy the scenery. By the time I came back around to where I’d started, Noel had laid out a delicious local spread with drinks and sat with me while I ate. Meeting such a kind person made this my best experience in Cebu. Thanks, Noel. I’m looking forward to coming back and spending more time at the resort.

The villa felt lackluster and inconvenient, with no amenities. For that price, I expected a private bathroom, but the toilet and bath were shared and dirty.
