Alpa City Suites

We booked this cheap hotel at the last minute because of an emergency. The room felt a bit grim, and both it and the bathroom could use renovation. The AC was very noisy, and the towels were really old.

The staff were consistently happy to help, from the bartender and waiters to reception. The rooms were spacious, clean, and had a European quality, with a fridge, microwave, flat-screen TV, and a small sink area. The windows kept out the street noise, and the quiet AC worked well. Food was good value too. Lunch and dinner portions were generous, the meals tasted great, and the cocktails were delicious and just $1. Breakfast had a big selection, mostly Asian food. Some mornings I’d had enough rice-based breakfasts and wished for a good Western fry-up. There were three cereals, bread, and cake for Western guests. Alpa City Suite's is well priced for what you get. The room had free wired CAT5 internet, and there’s a Business Centre for anyone without a laptop. The connection wasn’t fast, but it did the job. It’s close to Ayala Mall and SM Mall, about 55 Pesos by taxi. Don’t head outside the hotel unless you’re getting into a taxi. I’d recommend Alpha City Suites for its quiet rooms, helpful staff, inexpensive food, and proximity to the malls.

I had a really good stay. My executive room had a queen bed, fridge, TV, kettle, and a bidet, which is a big plus for me. The AC kept things cold, and the WiFi was strong. Check-in was quick and easy. Breakfast was solid, though the choice wasn’t very broad. I’d recommend it for a comfortable stay at a good price.

I found little bugs crawling on the counter, and the bed had a messy, questionable stain. For somewhere called “Suites,” I expected better cleanliness and quality. Really disappointing.
