Amax Inn Cebu

We found it affordable and suitable for an overnight stay. Breakfast for one person was included, and luckily my partner wasn’t in the mood to eat. They brought breakfast to our room. The room was clean and the AC worked. There were some downsides. Our room was beside an unfinished building, so people could peek inside, and the restroom was shared. It was noisy outside too. We also had to walk to Amax Inn because the road was blocked and our taxi couldn’t reach the entrance.

A budget friendly place to stay in the city in Mandue. The room was spacious and clean, with a simple but classic design.

The inn is about two years old and in Banilad Mandaue. It’s a comfortable, budget friendly option, with plenty of food and entertainment nearby. I liked strolling around J Center Mall, and there are Japanese and Korean restaurants on almost every corner. The neighborhood seems friendly, though walking around late at night can feel intimidating. The rooms felt new and had a reliable air conditioner, cable TV, a desk, chair, and a good bed. The pillow felt weird to sleep on, though. The common CR and shower were okay, but the showerheads were meh. Better to use the old “tabo” (a.k.a. dipper). If you need something like a kettle for hot water or extra hangers, the staff are just a call away. The lobby felt small to me and can get hot in summer, probably to manage electricity costs. I didn’t try the food since there’s so much to choose from outside. :) Peace!

The room rates are affordable and the AC is great, but the rest was subpar. The floor was dirty, the room didn’t smell clean, and the neighborhood was rowdy. They suddenly ran out of water, and I think they were rationing it. I wouldn’t recommend this place.
