Cebu Westown Lagoon-Partywing

We stayed in one of their exclusive rooms. The room was cold and nice, with a comfortable bed and a smart TV that had YouTube and Netflix. Our aircon remote didn’t really work, and the keycards didn’t work either, so we called and they switched them quickly. The hairdryer in the bathroom was pretty gross, sticky to hold and with what looked like a yellow stain. Thankfully nobody in our room used it. The walls aren’t soundproof. We heard people next door when they moved a chair or dropped something loud, though we couldn’t hear their TV or voices. The location was fine, and there’s even a bar connected to the place if you want to have fun. Service was good overall. They didn’t call to ask us to send out our plates and things from the room, which they should do. They should also provide the complimentary bottled water without making guests ask. Some of us didn’t know about it, so they missed getting it. I looked for a menu online and in the room but couldn’t find one. We called, and they let us take a picture of the menu, which was alright.

The place is nice and has clearly aged, but it’s still well maintained. We had fun, especially the kids.

I didn’t like the service. I was invited to dinner in my friend’s room with her family, and explained that I was only visiting for dinner before heading home because I had work afterward. The resort doesn’t accept visitors. If you insist, they let you in for just 30 minutes, then charge 600 pesos or more if you stay longer. The staff weren’t friendly, and I felt discriminated against.

The room was crawling with roaches, though it did have a large refrigerator that was kept tidy. The patio-like area was great. Corkage is steep, but they don’t really check. The pool seemed kind of filthy, with what looked like a layer of slime on everything. The kids loved the slides and fountain features, but I refused to get in after trying it once. One section was closed off because someone left their child unattended and the child almost drowned. That made the pools feel smaller and ruined some of the fun. Food was so-so, and you can get actual meals elsewhere.
