This is an old building, and running a small hotel for international guests isn't easy. The original owner is very old now, which is why she sold it. Before that, she rented to Ateneo students and Chinese students, then migrated to the USA. The second owner is still learning the business, or may not know it yet. It feels like a business built around a love of old memories, with people working hard to maintain the property and keep it going.

The staff were great, but the rooms were often dirty between guests, with hair and dust on the floors and window sills. The food was awful and gave me a bad stomach on multiple nights during my five-day stay. Some rooms have no windows, which felt extremely claustrophobic, so check that before staying. They only take cash. I was put here against my will after quarantine and paid 2500php per night, while regular customers paid 1000php. That felt like a rip-off, especially since social distancing meant the service for quarantined guests was reduced. Leaving was the best part of the stay. There are clearly things that need attention, and maybe it could be decent if they addressed them, but these were awful five nights and I feel for anyone in my position.

I was isolated here for 5 days, and it felt like a total nightmare. I paid 2200pesos a night and felt as if I were living in a prison. Most rooms don't even have windows. Mine smelled, the sheets were dirty, and the floor looked disgusting. The food was disgusting too. On top of that, some people played really loud music all night, every night.

The staff deserve credit for welcoming guests, and the price is good. Still, the hotel’s current condition doesn’t seem to match that value. The rooms and property look poorly maintained, and random pests seem to show up.

My room phone never worked, and the door key would fail without warning, so I had to keep going down to the front desk. The water heater worked only about three times during my ten-day stay. Staff checked rooms often but didn't clean unless I specifically asked, so I ended up washing my sheets with my clothes. They were loud in the halls, sounding like they were having a party, though I guess they might have been checking or cleaning rooms. At 8pm, someone walked into my room without knocking while I was naked. There are no refunds. Be warned.
