Halina Hotel Avenida

We were scared to go out because the area felt so dangerous. I was there with my family of five, and we worried about being robbed or beaten. Outside, there seemed to be lots of people who steal and could be dangerous. Inside, the room was much too dark, and there were rats and cockroaches everywhere. Staff were rude when we asked several times for the room to be cleaned, and they never came. This was a horrible stay at Halina Hotel, with bad service and ugly, smelly rooms. I would not stay here unless you want to feel like you're in literal hell.

For what I paid, the basic comforts were covered, so I'm happy with the stay and would come back. I’m not a fussy person, and I was satisfied with the food, staff, and service. There were some issues in my room. The water was cold, or colder, with no hot option. The linens and towels smelled clean to me, like they'd been washed and disinfected, but they still had stains that wouldn't come out. I had no phone signal indoors, though the Wi-Fi worked. There were two outlets, one for the TV and one for personal use.

My flight was canceled because of the weather, so I contacted the hotel to ask about changing the booking dates to match my new flight. I wasn't asking for a refund, but they refused, saying their policy didn't allow it. That was no help at all. I'll book somewhere else and won't consider any of the Halina Hotels again.

The facilities and amenities were in good condition, and the hotel was moderately clean. The staff and crew were respectful and accommodating. It seemed clean, safe, and affordable to me, so you can go see for yourself. Book a stay.
