I’ve checked into this hotel 5-6 times before, and this was the first time I got so mad at the staff. They wouldn’t let us in because they said men had to be 21 and women 18. That’s absurd and makes no sense to me, since I thought the legal age to enter a hotel was 18. I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you’re under 21, since that’s what I was told. The staff were unreasonable. I’ve been here 5-6 times before and they let us in when we were over 18.

The WiFi was especially good, with no dropouts, so you could quickly update your loved ones. It was my first time using the amenities there, and I was really impressed. Highly recommend it.

The good food and welcoming staff helped make our stay more enjoyable. People responded quickly when we had questions or requests, the front desk seemed coordinated, and staff promptly cleared trash from the lobby. Still, Sogo Recto has been the least satisfactory of the Sogo hotels I've stayed at so far. We found stains around the room and bathroom, and had to follow up on our food orders. There were internet problems, so we couldn't use WiFi. The elevator was so small that 3-4 people fit tightly, and the stairs were narrow. Front desk operations also seemed entirely manual. Management should address these problems so future guests don't have the same experience.

When I tried to check in in mid July, two staff members refused to let me stay, saying that people aged 20-21 were still minors. We were offended, and had to go to another hotel. I've only been here once, and I hope they change this guideline and improve their staff. Anyone 18 or older is already an adult.
