Mabini Mansion Hotel

It’s cheap, and the air conditioner is great. If you’ll be out most of the day, this hotel could work. The food was neither great nor bad, and the rooms are old and need remodeling. The stoves don’t work very well, and the walls aren’t in good shape.

The blinds were the one thing I liked. The room itself needs repainting and better lighting, and the bed wasn’t cozy. There was a large cabinet without locks, a torn towel, and a cigarette smell that made the room unpleasant. The kitchen wasn’t clean, and its exhaust fan was really noisy. I booked the place for the small kitchen, though it seems you can use it, and the refrigerator worked. The hotel is really, really old.

There’s a kitchen in every room, so you can cook your own food, and the hospitality was up to the mark. It seems like a great place for a family, though I’m taking off a star because the night receptionist, a lady, was rude to me. The TV is old. I didn’t mind, but some people may want a flat screen or LED set. Also, leave food anywhere in the room and you can expect ants.

The rooms are old and basic, and the refrigerator and cooktop in the suites are both very old and barely work. In the last room we stayed in, the bidet sprayer that used to be there was missing. Still, the value for the rooms and the service make this place worth staying at, and I’ll stay again when I return to manila. My wife says it deserves 3 stars, but I’d give it four for the service alone. It’s also within walking distance of the US Embassy.
