Adelina Hotel and Suites

We stayed one night and had a fun weekend with Netflix, chilling, and pickleball. Family Court pickleball was only about 500m away, which was handy. The hotel was decent, breakfast was included, and it was definitely worth the price.

The breakfast could use a warmer so it stays hot for anyone eating later in the morning. It was cheap and included with the booking, though. I really enjoyed the stay, and the staff were helpful and accommodating. The location was just right for a quiet, relaxing getaway.

All the staff were incredibly nice, and the restaurant was good, but we couldn't get past the smell in the room. It was horrible, musty, dirty, and like a wet dog. We asked to switch rooms, and they kindly showed us several, but they all smelled the same. We think there may be a sewerage issue, since it smelled like sulfur or gas coming from a plumbing drain. Closing the bathroom door helped a little, but the smell was so strong we couldn't sleep. The bathroom in our room also wasn't very clean. We were so disappointed, especially since my in-laws live in Mati and we'd planned to visit them every year.

During our week at the Adelina hotel to visit my in-laws, we upgraded from a standard one-bed room to a two-bed room so an extra guest could stay with me and my wife for one night. Even with the extra bed, the room apparently only allowed two people, so we had to pay more for that guest, on top of the upgrade, and pay extra again to include their breakfast. A few days later, we went to the rooftop bar with my in-laws and other family to have drinks and play billiards. We accidentally broke a margarita glass. Instead of first checking whether everyone was okay, staff cleaned it up and told us we'd be charged. It left me feeling like the place cared more about money than its guests.
