Marina Village

We came to relax on vacation, but the stay was honestly rubbish. We booked 2 days, 1 night, Saturday to Sunday. We arrived around 11 AM and were allowed in, but understood when they withheld the room keys because check-in was at 2 PM. Housekeepers told us to come back then. After lunch and a look around Moalboal, we returned at 2:30 PM, only to learn our room had been given to other guests. The housekeepers said to complain at the office, saying, “It’s not our fault, ma’am.” The office was a walk away, and since they run three businesses from one office, we had to go back and forth. The front desk didn’t know what had happened, so we waited while they tried to sort out their own internal problems. Cleanliness was another issue. They insisted the room was clean, but when my friend went to use the toilet there was urine on the floor and toilet bowl. When I asked for someone to clean it, one staff member avoided me as if he couldn’t hear. The room also had almost no usable sockets. One outlet didn’t work, and another was sunk so deep into the wall we couldn’t use it, making it nearly impossible to charge our devices. Rude staff, poor communication, unclean facilities, and no accountability. 0/5 stars, WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

The location was perfect, with everything we wanted to do and see within walking distance. I loved the Cameron shrimp on the menu, and the included breakfast was always delicious. The rooms were good value and fine as a place to sleep. They were clean, and we always got fresh towels, water bottles, and sheets.

I chose this hotel because I was diving with the shop next door. It has a seaside section and a garden side across the road, where I stayed. Breakfast was on-site and very good. The room was comfortable and simple, with a comfortable bed and cold AC, though it was a little loud. The shower always had hot water but low pressure, and fresh towels and water were provided daily. It was just right for what I needed.

The sea-view room was clean and comfortable, with a hot shower, and I was so glad I chose it. You’re right among the action, but it stays quiet at night. Best of all, the ocean is just a few steps away, so you can swim with the sardines and giant turtles. My four-day stay was amazing. Thanks!
