There was no real hostel atmosphere, and apart from the owner's sister, the staff weren't attentive. She was genuinely helpful, though. The place is also a long way from the seaside and restaurants, with hardly any places to eat nearby. The on-site restaurant only had four dishes, and the food was okay. We stayed six nights and only got one cleaning. The Wi-Fi was very slow and unreliable, and the bathroom smelled really bad. On the plus side, there was a hot shower, AC and a fan, plus a table and chairs. It's near the main road, with tours and scooter rental available. Free hot water and a one-peso cold water dispenser were handy.

We stayed as a couple in a double room and found it convenient for getting around Moalboal by motorbike. It's also close to the bus stop. The family members working there were nice, and the rates felt good for the money. Meals were affordable as well as the room, which made it easy to feel comfortable during a longer stay.

The elderly woman was very helpful and arranged a canyoneering tour for us, but the receptionist seemed unwelcoming and as if she didn't want to be there. The room was a real disappointment after the good reviews that led me to book a double room. It smelled moldy, the walls and other surfaces were very dirty, and there was a strong odor in the bathroom. There were even worms on the bathroom ceiling. I found the conditions a health concern. This was the worst hotel I've stayed at in the Philippines, and I wouldn't return. If your health matters to you, don't stay here.

It's peaceful and there's food ready to eat, which is handy. The place is a decent deal for the price. There's no AC, but if you like warm, humid air, haha, that might suit you. Panagsama fun is a bit far, so renting a motorbike would be better for getting around.
