Ramashinta Resort and Spa

Room 101 was the problem for me. It’s close to the parking lot, so there was a lot of noise early in the morning. The location itself is great, with easy access to attractions, and the service was exceptional.

The restaurant looked nice, its prices seemed reasonable, and breakfast was quite good. I didn’t get to try lunch or dinner. The pool was long enough for laps, though its shape was a little odd. My deluxe room was a good size for one person. It was beside the road, so I could hear tricycles, and the bathroom was small with no shower curtain, but that was okay. The hotel has a resort feel and sits in a quieter area outside the city center. It seems more geared toward events and has only 15 rooms. I was the only guest during my stay. I’d probably stay again because I enjoyed the peace and quiet. I’m not sure how I’d feel if it were noisy and full of people.

The room was really good, and I liked the breakfast and juice. They could use more parking.

The staff were courteous and helpful, our parking request was accommodated, and we had a great time in the clean pool. Everything else was a short drive away. Still, our experience was below par, and I can only speak for our room. We’d called about four hours ahead to ask for an extra bed and have it set up before check-in, since we expected to be tired after the long drive. It wasn’t ready, so we waited another hour while staff arranged it. We asked about non-dairy coffee at the restaurant. The staff member wasn’t sure and had to check with the barista, who was elsewhere. Sitting outside, we didn’t realize the barista had made it with regular milk without checking with us. We hope he simply missed the request unintentionally. Since we’re sensitive to staff mistakes and food waste, we accepted it anyway. Room 206 was listed as a Premiere Queen, but it didn’t live up to that name. The toilet and shower were so cramped that I could easily hit my elbow on the sink while sitting on the toilet. Water didn’t drain properly, apparently because the floor wasn’t level, and it stayed soaked. Stepping in that old water was disgusting. We only discovered at checkout that either the hair dryer or the outlet in the bathroom was broken. One window wouldn’t close all the way, and because the room faces the road, we heard noise all night. We didn’t notice the window issue until midnight and had assumed it just didn’t seal well. The bedside drawers also kept sliding open on their own.
