Hotel Bella Monte

The room was nice but old, and the pool wasn't clean. There were also a lot of insects in the bathroom that you might end up having to kill. The staff were really helpful. They don't have their own restaurant, but there's Sit-N-Bull right next door and a bakery with some very fresh things. If you're on a budget, I wouldn't advise against staying here. It's close to lots of bars and restaurants by the sea.

The staff are friendly, and the location is good, close to bars and restaurants. The room is big, but there's no closet or place to hang a shirt or jacket. The building is old and needs renovation.

My husband and I arrived with our two kids at 4 pm on April 17,19, and our room wasn't ready yet. That was still okay. The first room, a studio by the pool, had bad air conditioning, so we asked to switch. They put us in a second-floor room instead. It was PHP 500/day cheaper than the pool-side room, but the front desk guy said we couldn't get a refund. They still had a responsibility to provide what we paid for, though we were being considerate. The water pressure in the new room was too weak for the shower, so we had to use a bucket even though we had checked in. We couldn't relax or use the pool because it was filthy. So disappointing. The weak water pressure really ruined our day and mood. The staff are nice, but I still can't recommend this place.

This hotel has clearly aged. The rooms especially need renovating soon; with some urgent work, it could be a nice place again like it was years ago. They’ll need to get on with it if they want to stay competitive.
