The Pub Hotel

I stayed at the back of the hotel, and it was quiet. It's probably the cleanest hotel I've stayed in in the Phillipines. The beds, though, are rock hard. That might suit some people, but I couldn't get a proper night's sleep.

The rooms are okay, with enough space, but could be kept in better shape. For a lower room price, book online. If you walk in, they won't match the online rate, even if you pay cash.

The road into the parking area is extremely tight, so take great care going in and out and keep checking your mirrors to avoid scraping doors or walls on the odd angles. Parking is available, though. It's a good, reasonably priced three-star hotel in the middle of Olongapo's tourist belt, just a few minutes from the beach, scuba centers, bars, and restaurants. The rooms and bathrooms were properly cleaned, and the bathrooms were well maintained and surprisingly large for the price.

The location is fantastic: my full-sized A/C bus dropped me just four steps from the front door. The Pub Hotel is right in the middle of Barrio Barretto's restaurants, activities, and nightlife. It's probably the cleanest hotel I've stayed in, with spotless rooms, good hot shower pressure, great A/C, and nice flat-screen TVs. The attached restaurant serves good breakfasts and meals throughout the day, and there's a 24-hour concierge. The staff are extremely polite and helpful, and give every guest 100% V.I.P. service. Ask them for directions and I'm quite sure they'd even walk you there. I can't say enough about the employees. The Pub Hotel Barrio Beretto is the one other hotels try to match.
