Southwind Palawan

The place is very clean, and the staff are friendly and professional. It has potential to be a great vacation spot, but the rooms are cramped, with barely enough space to open luggage. The old wall AC units have to be switched on by hand, with no remote. Sound carries through the uninsulated rooms, so you can hear kids playing in the pool early in the morning. The windows aren't darkened, and the curtains have to stay drawn. If they improve some of these things, they'll do well in hospitality.

We had a very pleasant stay at Southwind. Princess at the front desk deserves a special mention: incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional, always finding a solution with a warm smile. Breakfast had plenty of variety and was delicious. Highly recommend!

The family room was a decent size, but with all the beds there wasn't much space to move around. The AC worked great, freezing my wife, though I liked it. The kids had a great time in the pool, and the staff were excellent, helpful, and friendly. One thing to keep in mind: our reservation said breakfast was included, but it only covered five of the seven of us. That didn't bother me since I don't want rice and eggs and don't really eat breakfast, but larger groups should take note.

We stayed in a Superior Room for ₱2300, which fit our group of five, two adults and three kids. Breakfast was included for three. The place was clean, and the pool was nice, though only 4' deep. It was easy to find, but you'll need a vehicle to get there conveniently; without one, there's a short walk. A good spot to unwind away from much of the city noise.
