Pandan Beach Resort

I can't understand why this place gets such good reviews. Our bed was uncomfortable, though the sheets were clean, and the room was noisy enough that we could hear people outside and in other rooms. They started chopping bamboo loudly at 7am on our first morning. The only socket was high up, so charging anything meant leaving it dangling. There were bugs coming through holes in the outside wall, which seemed to be there by design. The toilets, only two of them, were always wet and weren't cleaned while we were there. One cubicle was too small to sit on properly. The room WiFi was poor, though it worked okay in the common areas. The doors didn't lock properly either. In the middle of the night a man opened ours by mistake, then shut it when he realized. He was apparently confused or lost, but it was unsettling to think someone could open the doors at night or while we were out. The private beach wasn't nice. Tours were ridiculously expensive too. We went to Phaidon beach resort for the day and asked about Malumpati cold spring and bugang River. They said 800P per person, while Pandan beach resort charged over P3000 for two people. We arrived late at night, and the room had seemed fine at first, but I wouldn't stay here again. I'd find somewhere else.

The laundry was done really well and folded nicely, and they could shuttle you to the airport. That's about where the good points ended. The room was cramped, full of bugs, and had dirty bedding and towels. The door didn't lock, and someone walked in after forgetting which room was theirs. The beach was filthy, the showers and toilets were gross, the WiFi was bad, and the sockets were awkwardly placed. Tours were way overpriced too. I'd avoid this resort and choose the more expensive Phaidon Resort a little further up.

It's very peaceful here, just a short walk from the public market and town center. If you're after a laid-back place with black sand dotted with marble pebbles, this might suit you.

A nice beachfront spot for looking out over Pandan Bay, with friendly staff and rooms that have been freshly painted. The hammock is worth trying. You can watch fishermen along the beach and might be able to buy fresh seafood from them. The WiFi can be unreliable at times.
