I booked this place based on the reviews, then sent three messages. I got one impolite, one-word answer, “No,” to my first question and no reply to the other two. When I arrived, the office sign said open but the door was locked. I could see the sliding door was open a few inches, so I went in calling hello while my driver walked around the whole property calling out too. The lobby kitchen and dining table were filthy. There was just one tiny seat in the large lobby, and the coffee table in front of it was piled with personal items. Outside, the place looked abandoned: the grass wasn’t maintained and the walkways were gritty and unswept. There was only a worn lawn chair by the pool and a dirty, battered plastic table with two chairs outside the lobby. My driver didn’t feel comfortable leaving me there. I waited outside for over half an hour before a man came out of a room and offered help. He asked for my name and said, “1 night?” I told him I had booked eight nights. He got me a room key, and I had to ask him to come back because there was no toilet seat. In the shower, about six clumps of black hair had been scraped from the drain area, rounded at the top, stuck to the wall and dried there. He told his wife, who came and scraped it off with her bare hands. She didn’t apologize and didn’t seem to care. I asked four times for cleaning product or sanitizer, but she refused. When I asked if they cleaned or sanitized between guests, she said no. She refused to clean the shower again, saying she had no cleaner or sanitizer. There were also band-aids stuck to a shower handle that badly needed repair, and a broken handle on the door from the shower to the outside. There was a roach in the shower too. I wish I’d taken a photo of the hair before it was scraped off. I was shocked and disgusted. The door had a manual deadbolt and chain, and the key triggered five more deadbolts. The property needs serious repairs and landscaping maintenance, and it needs new managers who care. I suspect it may have been a nice place once. The reviews are either out of date or the bad ones are being filtered.

The pool was quite nice and clean, and the price was reasonable. The rooms are big but not trendy. It’s a bit far from town, around 20-30 minutes walking, or under ten minutes by car or motorbike.

Staying here made our time in Panglao more enjoyable because it was away from the beach crowds and bustle, while still being near Alona Beach and other spots. It’s best if you have your own car. Without one, you have to take a tricycle to the beach. Our room was spacious, had the basic amenities, and felt private and relaxing, away from the tourist commotion. We had the family room, which fit five adults and two kids. It had a separate eating area, a mini kitchen with a sink and dishwashing soap, and a small dining table with chairs. They also provided coffee, a gallon of water in a dispenser, a fridge, a coffee maker, and a TV. The pool was nice and relaxing, and the staff were friendly and very accommodating. The Wi-Fi and mobile data signal were poor inside the rooms, so a better internet provider might help. Other than that, everything was great for a place that isn’t a five-star hotel. I’d definitely recommend it to friends visiting Bohol, and would rather stay in Venezia than at the other luxury hotels nearby.

The pool was lovely, and Alona Beach is only about five minutes away by taxi or tricycle. Our suite was clean and roomy, breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

For the price, the spacious rooms and welcoming staff were a great combination. The amenities and facilities felt worthy of a five-star resort, and the management deserves credit for building such a nice place.
