Holiday Inn Express Manila Newport World Resorts

The location is excellent for travelers, close to NAIA and conveniently connected to Newport World Resorts. My stay at Holiday Inn Express Manila Newport World Resorts by IHG was very pleasant. The hotel is modern, clean, and well maintained. My room was quiet and comfortable, with a thoughtful design that worked well for a short stay or business travel. Staff were consistently polite, professional, and helpful, and the service felt efficient and well organized. Breakfast was good with a decent range of choices. For the location, comfort, and service, it offers very good value. I’d recommend it to transit travelers and business guests visiting Manila and would happily stay again.

We’ve come here in December for the last couple of years and felt like VIPs, but this time was the worst so far. Check-in and check-out were very good, but the room smelled of mildew and had visible mold on the ceiling, walls, and curtains. The floor was very dirty. We asked to change rooms, but none were available. They said they’d let us know when one opened up, then never did. Housekeeping didn’t bring the extra water and coffee we requested. The refrigerator was on but wouldn’t keep anything cold. The grab-and-go meal was hard rolls, an apple, and water. Without a microwave, how was I supposed to warm the bread? At Ala cart, when I asked the waiter to repeat what wasn’t available, he just walked away to another table with two waiters there. Very disrespectful. I felt like I was falling when I lay on the bed. When I checked, two legs were broken and nails were sticking out. There was visible mold along the hallway too. The latch lock on our room door and the bathroom door were broken, and the TV stuck so far out that it was hard to get by. Feathers from the bed were appearing everywhere. A lot of these room issues weren’t healthy or safe for my one year child.

We had a meeting at 2pm and still needed lunch, so spending about 30 minutes just to check in was frustrating. We arrived around 1pm on 26 Feb 2026 and found only one staff member and one trainee handling the line at the buffet area. We were fifth or sixth in line, and after roughly ten minutes nobody had moved. There was no explanation about a system delay or anything else, just waiting. If check-in efficiency matters to you, this hotel may not be a good fit, especially with “Express” in its name. Check the check-in schedule before booking.

After a tiring flight, Al at the front desk lifted our mood with genuine kindness. The other front desk employees were professional and helpful too, which I appreciated as an international traveler. We were in Manila in transit, and the airport was only a 5-6 minute cab ride away. The main drawback was noise from guests yelling in the corridor at night, which carried clearly into our room. We had a tight departure window and got breakfast to go, though it would have helped to know the breakfast hours. Otherwise, a great stay.
