We stayed here in Nov 2024. It’s convenient and affordable, with rooms near NAIA. Our room for three was small but looked clean. The caretaker said the bed was big enough for four, but it was barely suitable for three. Could work for a couple or someone traveling solo, but I wouldn’t say it’s practical for three or more.

This is my third stay at solanos transient. It’s close to the airport and my agency, and the staff are accommodating and helpful with luggage at check-in and checkout. I prefer the other building, the inner building, because it’s quieter than the front one. Highly recommend.

We chose Solanos for a stopover near the airport, and the existing reviews made it seem like a reasonable option. The owner welcomed us on the street when we arrived and agreed to help arrange a taxi to the airport at night, saying he’d be there to call one. But we couldn’t find him when we needed him. The website and booking both say there’s a 24-hour reception. The area felt pretty unwelcoming. Our room was basically a bed, a garden table and chairs, and a toilet with a partly working flush. The shower didn’t work at all. There was a chemical, chloride-like smell throughout the room, and we could hear people talking outside so clearly it felt like they were in the room with us. Even at 1,700 php, the supposedly cheap price would have been better spent somewhere else.
