Estancia is the main reason I used to come here, but after my recent stay I won’t be back. I’d stayed many times 3-5 years ago, and the quality has dropped a lot. The place hasn’t been maintained, which may explain why it’s cheaper than other hotels. If cleanliness matters to you, this isn’t the place. On two occasions I wanted my room made, but after a long day out I came back to an untidy room and a smelly toilet. I’m usually on DND, and the door sign is supposed to show whether I want cleaning or not. The toilets are old and smell of urine from the building’s pipes, even after cleaning. It wasn’t my own urine. Cockroaches also came out at night in both rooms I stayed in over two weeks last month. I asked to move, but the second room was no better. The cleaning didn’t help. In the new room the floor was sticky, like someone had spilled soda. When I called room service, they arrived with a mop that looked grimy and black, as if it had been used all over the building. Instead of smelling cleaning solution, the floor stank.

The helpful, friendly staff were quick, and the food was tasty. There weren’t many food choices, but it was worth the budget, even with peak season just around the corner. A drugstore and minimarket are nearby, and my deluxe double queen room was spacious. The TV also had plenty to watch, including Netflix, iQYI, and YT. I’d give it 4.5. They cleaned the room daily unless I put up the “do not disturb” sign, but the cleaning wasn’t thorough. Dust in the corner under the table was almost untouched. Maybe they were swamped with guests, since the city gets so crowded. They can definitely improve that.

Facilities, including the rooms, could use better cleaning. The hotel has a nice architectural design, but I hope management steps up housekeeping and facilities care. The price is reasonable for such a convenient spot. Convenience stores, restaurants, and Estancia are all within walking distance. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, and they provided a few toiletries.

The fresh sheets, luggage storage, and nearby spots like Estancia, Chowking, Shakeys, and BPI were the best parts. The rooms and beds were moderately sized, but there were bugs and cockroaches, so be careful not to bring any home. Only two of the old elevators worked, which meant queues. We called the front desk several times, but the phone just kept ringing with no answer. The gym was old and poorly maintained. The cable machines barely worked; the dumbbells and one treadmill were the only things worth using.
