I came across this place by chance while looking for somewhere to stay, and I'm so glad I did. The owner and staff are amazing. The rooms feel private and gave me a chance to unwind. It's far enough from the busy streets to feel like home, but the mall and local dining are still within walking distance of the city.

The people at Mabini Pension were kind and helpful, but the rooms and facilities were in really poor shape. It was quite dirty, with dust everywhere, and the cockroaches didn't seem to be dealt with. Given how little it costs, I can understand it to some extent. I'd only suggest it to someone whose main priority is finding a very cheap place to sleep in Puerto.

It's a budget room for people who mainly need somewhere comfortable to sleep in Puerto Princessa. There aren't extras like air conditioning, a hot shower, free breakfast, bottled water, soap, or shampoo. You can pay to upgrade if you want those things.

Dogs barked through the night, there was no Wi-Fi in the rooms, and I couldn't get hot water. Air conditioning costs extra. I'd avoid this place.

The room was a bit dirty, and the shower barely trickled. There was no toilet paper or bum gun, so I still don't understand how you're meant to clean yourself. One socket by the door was coming away from the wall. My private room opened onto the foyer at the top, so I could hear everything all night.
