Fersal Hotel Malakas

Along Malakas St. in Quezon City, this is a nice budget hotel in a calm setting that isn’t too busy or noisy. Rooms are a bit oldish but clean and orderly, and the lobby restaurant serves good food at affordable prices. The location is very convenient, with food options within walking distance and places like Quezon City Hall, Phil.Heart Center, UP Diliman, and East Avenue Hospital nearby.

The longganisa and fried rice made a nice last-day breakfast. We liked both. During our 10-day stay, the location was a favorite and the price felt worthwhile. If you plan to work in the room, bring an extension cord, and a shower caddy helps since bathroom storage for toiletries is limited. I’d skip booking breakfast unless you want it every day, as ordering from the menu worked better for us.

A good deal, even if it isn’t the best. There’s a restaurant, unlimited coffee, and water dispensers on every floor. Breakfast is complimentary at 7am, and they’ll reheat food for free; you can also take meals to go. Security is there 24/7. Parking is limited. Laundry, fast-food places, and convenience stores are near the Malakas and Matalino Street intersection, including McDo and 7 Eleven.

The staff were the best part for me. The guard, front desk, restaurant team, and everyone handling requests were warm, helpful, and pleasant. I’d stay here again if I had an appointment nearby. The room had the basics I needed for a 3D 2N stay, including a comfortable bed and a hot shower after a tiring day. The rooms and facilities are dated, though, and I wish the bins had been emptied every day. I didn’t see any rodents or roaches. The AC cooled the room enough for sleeping and helped cover the street noise, though it wasn’t quiet. The restaurant serves breakfast from 7-10 AM and stays open until 10 PM. Its choices are limited and not especially memorable. For an earlier meal, there are nearby fast-food places open 24 hours. There are also plenty of food spots and convenience stores close by for snacks.
