Marina 4Rooms

Susan, the owner, was really friendly, and the price was right, which seems rare in the Philippines. The guest house has a nice nautical look, and our small bunk-bed room was clean and comfortable. We ended up sharing the bottom bunk and slept just fine. The aircon was cold, the shower could be hot when we wanted, and there was off-road bike parking right outside.

I arrived without a booking because I wanted to ride around and see the viewpoints by motorcycle, and they took me in. There are a few motorcycle parking spots out front. The room layout felt thoughtfully designed, and I had strong Wi-Fi, good water pressure in the shower, and air conditioning. For such an affordable rate, this is simply the best place to stay in the area, possibly beyond it. 10 out of 10, and I'd stay here again if I return to San Vicente.

The terrace rises above the surrounding buildings, so you get a memorable 360-degree view. Marina 4 rooms is now being run by the energetic UK duo, chef Kie and front of house Beth. Their updated menu has given the place a new lease of life. I spent time around san Vicente, and this was easily my favorite spot. 10/10, would recommend.

I came for a relaxing night and ended up wanting to return for the ramen. The room was immaculate, and the sea view, with islands scattered across the horizon, was beautiful to wake up to. The staff were great at helping with rides, whether arranging a scooter or suggesting a Tuk Tuk, and they had ideas for activities too. They know the area so well, they could almost have written the local guidebook. They made the stay feel like royalty on a budget. And that ramen really was good enough to bring me back. Add the hospitality and a chef who can go head to head with Ramsey himself, and this became a stay I won't forget. 10/10, I'd eat ramen with a view again.
