I liked the beachfront setting best. The beach is great, doesn’t seem polluted with swimmers, and it’s easy to relax there. The internet was also very good, and we slept well throughout our stay. Still, the rooms felt uncomfortable because the sides and second floor weren’t concrete. For an expensive hotel, the bedding and towels seemed too old. Transporting guests needs to be handled carefully to avoid confusion, since the place is somewhat secluded. Even with those downsides, I think it was worth it. The owner and staff are nice, and the food is delicious.

The restaurant was the biggest letdown. It wasn’t busy, but my carbonara took 30 minutes, and the cheese pizza arrived after 45 minutes and was possibly the worst I’ve had in the Philippines. The fried fish was good, though. The Filipino staff were polite and trying their best, but if the place caters to foreign guests, the kitchen needs to improve and paying customers need internet in their rooms. They have Starlink, but we couldn’t get a connection in our first floor room. The beach location is wonderful for swimming and long walks, and our room was clean with air conditioning and a warm, though not hot, shower. There was no cabinet or hanger for clothes, and they provided soap but no shampoo.

We only stayed a couple of nights, but the room was cozy and good for the price. The staff were warm and welcoming, and you can walk from the hotel to swim in the ocean in under a minute. Dinner on our second night was amazing. I’m vegetarian, and they made me a monggo beans soup that was so, so good!

I loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves and waking up peacefully. We had a room facing the beach, and the resort is so close to the sea. It’s a simple place to stay in Alimanguan, with a mini bar, a couple of benches, a bamboo hammock, strong Wi-Fi, friendly, accommodating staff, and friendly doggos. There’s also a kayak, SUP, and surf board for water activities. The highlight for me was the plankton lighting up at night. I don’t have a photo, but swimming in that bioluminescence was a great experience. When plankton appear in an area, it means the water is clean. I also loved how organic the food was: simple dishes made with vegetables and fruits freshly picked from the owners' farm. 😊

The staff were accommodating, and the beachfront setting with its lovely sunset view made up for a lot. Victoria Beach House was mostly peaceful during our one night there, but an event next to our Superior Double Room made the noise noticeable. Maybe it was because of the long weekend. The room was okay, though the shower pressure was very low and there was no heater. At ₱3,500 a night, I expected better amenities, especially in the bathroom. With some improvements, it would feel more worth the price.
