Quarry Bay Hometel

We liked the place so much that we came back on another trip. After checking out more than ten hotels in Sagada, this was easily our favorite. There’s no AC, but it was the only one we found with a fan, and we stayed comfortable. The room was cute, above average, and the bed was comfy. It reminded us of a Hampton Inn. The price is a little higher than the budget places, but the room should make any American happy. Breakfast was included, and the restaurant was pretty good. The shower is fully enclosed, which meets American standards, and they gave us three extra pillows free, while many places charge for them. The toilet has a seat too, which isn’t the case everywhere, so Americans may feel at home. Also, don’t forget the yogurt house down the street, 1 km away. It’ll make your trip five stars.

We came back to edit this because Rusty Nails is much better than other inns here in Sagada. It’s one of the best, with delicious food and nice accommodation. The salad and chips were my favorites. The rooms are comfortable, and a small water issue during our stay was sorted out right away. As a coffee lover, I did wish the staff had heated the coffee and water dispensers earlier in the morning. It’s a bit far from the center, about a 17-minute walk according to Google Maps.

The place sits right in the middle of a working quarry, which is where its name comes from. You pick your breakfast and the time you’d like it the night before. There’s a water dispenser, too. Bring your own hair conditioner if you use it, since they don’t provide any, and pack body lotion if you need that.

Our family felt at home and had a lovely Sagada vacation thanks to how comfortable the hometel was. The room and customer service were well beyond what we expected, and we were lucky to find and book it. Highly recommended. Tuktuks are limited and hard to hail, so it helped that the place is still within walking distance of the town proper.
