The setting was peaceful, though the huts felt old, and the pool was dirty. Getting around was difficult because there weren’t many transport options, so we felt stuck with the expensive food, which we didn’t enjoy. I visited in 2023 or 2024. Even after paying for an exclusive shuttle, the driver picked up a stranger during our trip.

We found Hof Gorei Beach Resort a peaceful place to stay, with lovely white sand, blue water, and a welcoming feel. It offers privacy and great service, and felt like a nice alternative to the more familiar spots on Samal Island.

The beach was beautiful, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Still, I expected more of an upscale resort feel. The property seemed worn and dated, and the internet was very weak. It has potential, and I hope they’ll consider a renovation and improve the overall management.

The beach was only so-so, and swimming was possible only at high tide. Our beach cabana room was nice, though overpriced, and breakfast was good.

The place and flowers are beautiful. Getting down to the pool and beach was really steep and tiring. I’m in good shape and still found the up and down hard. That’s the only downside, and it’s not suitable for little kids.
