We came across Nipa Hauz while walking along the beach and spent nearly five days with Antony and his family. They’re incredibly nice and friendly. Our days were full of cooking, eating, drinking, music, and fishing. His wife made really delicious food, and the whole experience was very affordable. If you want to spend time with locals and do local things, Nipa Nauz is highly recommended.

Whenever I visit Carabao Island, I have to stop by Nipa Hauz. It’s definitely one of the island’s best.

The rooms are affordable, with options depending on your budget, and the food gets five stars from me. The staff and owner are friendly, and there’s a good cocktail bar. You get a free welcome drink, too. It’s right in front of a snorkeling spot and has a lovely sunset view.

We stayed at another place, but kept coming to Anthony and his wife for meals. Their food was incredibly delicious and much cheaper than the resorts, and being there felt warm and local. Their place can look closed sometimes, but we stopped by spontaneously and got to enjoy authentic Filipino food. On New Year’s Eve they even drove us around so we could join the local fiesta. Anthony and his wife are fantastic hosts. Thank you, 10/10 stars.
