Neptune Diving Resort Santander

Emma and Joy, the two women helping manage the farm, were friendly and nice, which I appreciated. The rooms were average and expensive for what I paid, and the pillow and mattress were hard. My biggest disappointment was the owners. The woman didn't even say hello to us, and her husband, Jesper, a Swedish guy, was quite rude when handling a dispute. Even though he knew he'd made a mistake, he didn't apologize to me personally. He has no public relations skills.

It's a very quiet retreat from the city, and the resort is kept exceptionally clean. We stayed here after going to Oslob, and it was a cute spot right by the beach, with a view of Negros island. It's a little off the main road and not yet well known among locals in Santander, so some may not recognize it. If you're coming from Oslob, turn left at the sign that says "Tropana". The staff and owner are polite. Breakfast is included, with real coffee instead of instant, and they make their own bread there too, which is really cool. I'd recommend it as an overnight stop for a south Cebu route, whether you're watching whale sharks on day one and canyoneering on day two, or heading to moalboal, and vice versa.

It's clean, new, and quiet, with working hot water and AC and good food. The older Filipino woman looked after us and arranged a ride to the whale sharks, a hotel massage, and a trip back to the bus. That was nice, but you have to negotiate with her, otherwise she'll charge a few hundred extra pesos for everything you do.

The place is clean, peaceful, and accommodating. Filipino cuisine isn't the most impressive, to put it mildly, but the chef here outdid themselves. These were easily the best meals I've had in the Visayas. Even if you don't stay overnight, try the food. It's the best restaurant in town!
