Serenity Oceanside Guest House

Right beyond the fence there's a long stretch of sandy beach, and it felt untouched. I was amazed to have it to ourselves. The Ocean View is perfect. The newly built place is elegant and spacious inside and out. Tap water didn't taste salty, and free purified water is available from a hot and cold dispenser. Coffee is free as well. They use solar power during the day and have a standby generator for outages.

The owners were kind and accommodating, and even offered me breakfast. They let guests use the kitchen to cook, as long as you clean up as you go. Since there aren't decent restaurants around and the town mostly has karinderyas, you can buy ingredients at the wet market and make lunch or dinner at the hotel. It feels like a nice home that the couple opened as a hostel. For the area, it's a good place to stay and was clean and well maintained. My room had towels and linens, a shower and a bidet, but no hot water or safe. The hotel isn't far from the pier, around 7-10php per person by tricycle to the port.

The sea is right in front, and you can swim whenever you want. It felt like staying in your own home. Nanay was so kind, even offering free coffee made with Mcdo ground coffee beans. Both Nanay and her spouse were lovely. I wanted to spend time reading in their library too. Serenity is one of the few places I'll never forget. It's the best for me, and if I visit Siargao again, I'll stay at Nanay's home.

We had a relaxing, easy, enjoyable stay and really loved the place. The owners and staff were welcoming and knew the area well. They could arrange our island hopping bucketlist at a fair price or give us tips. The kitchen was open to everyone, and the market nearby made it easy to get ingredients and fresh seafood for home-cooked meals. Our room upstairs on the second floor was spacious and modern, with a great ocean view. The toilets were modern too. The resort is just a few minutes' drive from the port. I'd recommend it to family and friends.
