Subida has a lovely selection of well-made, locally produced gifts and keepsakes. The shop feels pleasant, and the air conditioning makes it easy to browse at your own pace. Don't miss the second floor, which has some beautiful artwork. A nice place to stop for souvenirs or to look at local crafts on the way to Valencia.
I went with relatives who were heading back to the US and wanted souvenirs, and I was surprised by how much there was to see. The shop has all sorts of lovely, well-made things, including jewelry, toys, animal ornaments, and local items like pedicabs, bags, mugs, banigs, and centerpieces. There are art pieces and paintings upstairs too. I bought jellyfish earrings for a friend, and the prices were affordable. I'd come back to get ornaments for my house. I recommend stopping in, whether you're from Dumaguete or not, though it's a bit out of the way if you aren't going to Valencia.
The products were nice, but the staff member was too busy livestreaming on her phone to help customers.
A cute, impressive little souvenir shop. Definitely worth a recommendation for travelers, both local and international.
We stopped at Subida Souvenir Shop on the way to Dumaguete City to finish our Valencia tour. It's a great place to shop for souvenirs from Negros Oriental, with all kinds of handicrafts: fridge magnets, jewelry, native hats, figurines, toys, and items that are special to the province. They even have a "ligoron," a kind of local transport. Upstairs, paintings by several local artists are on display.
