We’ll come back next time we’re in Virac. The place is affordable, has plenty of parking, and is within walking distance of Virac Port. There’s a good food selection, quick kitchen service, buffet breakfast, and free hot and cold water refills. The room was clean and had toiletries, and Wi-Fi worked throughout, though it was a little slow. We visited a week after Typhoon Uwan, which may explain that. I really have no complaints.

The restaurant food on the 8th floor was good, but bits of glitter from the newly installed Christmas decorations kept falling around us. I just hoped none landed on our food. Later, while I was dealing with something urgent, I went back to order and asked to have it sent to my room. They said yes, with a Php 75.00 room service charge. The access in and out of the old building also seems risky in an emergency because some floors are slightly raised. There are signs, but most wouldn't be useful in a real emergency. I think the BFP and DOT should look into it. We stayed October 4 and 5, 2024. The rooms are old, and the flyer at check-in was misleading. We picked a room for three that was listed with one queen bed and one single, but what was actually there was a standard double bed and a single. I raised the issue with three staff members at the counter, and nothing was done. So far, this has been my worst hotel stay on the happy island.

The city view is nice and the bathrooms are spacious, but the wait for food is just awful. Our meal cost 300-500 for three people and tasted really good, but we waited a full hour even though we were the only ones there. It’s cooked downstairs, not on the floor where you eat, and by the time it arrived lunch was already over. Better to reserve and order ahead. I bet even if you ordered from your accommodation, showered, got dressed, took a trike, and arrived in five minutes, you'd still be waiting another 15 minutes. Seriously, very slow service.

The decor is pretty ho-hum, and the room has a musty smell I couldn't get rid of. Its window is covered by a single curtain that doesn't move, so you can't see outside.
