Cityinn Hotel

The staff were the best part of my stay at City Inn. They were kind, professional, and quick to help with requests. Towels came right away when we asked, except once when they said they were waiting for the laundry delivery. They still found us towels, though not bathroom rugs. There wasn’t a rug in the bathroom when I arrived, which I’d expected, but I understand that can happen. They also brought hangers promptly, and I even borrowed a stapler from the front desk. The room itself had small cockroaches, was quite dark, and the shower was poorly maintained. I stayed here a few years ago when it was new and clean, but now it feels dirty and neglected. Common areas didn’t help: the water dispenser outside the rooms looked dirty and yellowish, and the nearby monoblock benches were often disorganized. The place looked unsightly, like management wasn’t making much effort to maintain its appearance. My aunt booked a month-long stay too, and her room’s air conditioner didn’t work properly. It stayed very hot, and the unit seemed too small for the room, which was especially uncomfortable in Zamboanga City’s heat. My card key was faulty and sometimes wouldn’t detect, making it hard to get into the room. There was only one card per room, so leaving even briefly turned off the aircon and electricity. Two cards would be much better so the room could stay cool while guests are out. The stay was just okay, and I’m not very picky, but cleanliness, maintenance, and the overall presentation really need more attention. I’d give it 2 out of 5.

The lobby is nice, and the rooms are clean, though a bit old. It’s a decent, no-frills hotel. The heater in my shower didn’t work.

Clean place, with rooms that work well for families or couples. It’s very accessible and close to grocery stores.

We booked through the Grab app, which was cheaper for tourists like us and more convenient. The hotel is in the city center, about a 10-minute walk to SM Mindpro and other places, with banks, a school, a drugstore, restaurants, and lots of transport nearby. We stayed 4D3N in a Deluxe room as 3 adults. It was clean, functional, and average in size, just enough for three. The A/C worked the first night, then started blowing hot air on the second night, so we had to move rooms. Staff dealt with the issue promptly, and the service was good.
