Marcian Garden Hotel

A couple of maintenance problems kept the stay from being excellent. The shower pressure was very low, and the room wallpaper was visibly damaged and peeling. Still, the accommodation was mostly comfortable, and the room was spotless when we arrived, with crisp, fresh linens on the bed.

We paid an extra ₱1,000 to move to a room with two twin beds in an adjacent hotel they own, bringing the total close to ₱6,000. That was far too much for what we got, and the suite didn't feel worth the price. We'd booked one night, but the hotel was completely full, and the only queen-bed room left was far at the back of the property. The front desk seemed friendly at first, then things went downhill. The bellman/tech was rude and took us through a creepy, poorly lit part of the building that made us feel unsafe. The room felt scary and rundown, like a haunted place, and we didn't want to stay there. We called reception to ask about another room, and they told us the adjacent hotel had the two-twin-bed room. The whole experience was unsettling, and the facilities didn't match the cost.

I'm from Canada, and this was my second stay at this hotel. I was there for more than 17 days, from Dec 2025 to Jan 2026. Breakfast is always good, and all the staff are very nice and polite. Their manager is a very nice guy too. My two concerns are that the rooms need good renovation, and the hotel is big but has no suite with a jacuzzi tub or any sauna. One funny thing, beer prices differ across the hotel's bars.

The room rate includes a sumptuous buffet breakfast at Gerardo's, and I enjoyed taking pictures at the beautiful Palacio del Sur. Marcian Garden Hotel offers luxurious accommodation in Zamboanga City, at a cheaper rate than Garden Orchid Hotel.
