The Mark Suites

Near Rawal Lake at 1 Club Road, Islamabad, The Mark Suites & Banquet Hall is handy for reaching the city's attractions and recreational spots. It brings together lodging and event facilities, with free private parking, a 24-hour front desk, airport transportation, room service and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout. The suites have air conditioning, flat-screen TVs and private bathrooms with showers and free toiletries. Guests can also use the garden and shared lounge. For weddings, business functions and private gatherings, there are spacious banquet halls designed to host large crowds while keeping an intimate feel. Professional event specialists work on personalized arrangements and smooth execution. The property presents itself as a luxurious, convenient choice for both leisure and business visitors, with accommodations, event space and service all in one place.

The restaurant is the main drawback, since it has limited seating, though you can eat in your room. Breakfast was excellent and included in the package, and the room rate is about half what nearby hotels charge. It's a nice, clean and quiet place, and all the staff were helpful, especially Mr Eijaz Abbasi. He reserved a room for me without asking for an advance payment. I'd stay there again if I needed to.

For 2400 Rs per person, the small Walima at The Mark Banquet Hall included the hall and food. The spread had Mutton Qorma, Seekh Kabab, Chicken Biryani, Naan, Cold Drinks, Mineral Water, Green Tea, Kheer, Custard, Green Salad, Beans Salad and Chick Pea Salad. Decor cost extra. The food was good and service was fine, while the interior felt basic and average. The DJ was far too loud, it felt more like we'd come to a DJ night.

I went to a wedding dinner at The Mark. The food was reasonable in quality and taste, and the service was a little above average. The environment was fine too, but nothing stood out. It's an average place for parties.
