The rooms are ordinary, and the price is ordinary too. The surrounding area is lovely, with a lake, a barbecue island, a playground, and an outdoor gym. It’s a great place to set off for a hike.

The surrounding area is a different story from the hotel itself. The hotel is nothing special, the beds are small and uncomfortable, and sewer problems left the bathroom smelling bad.

It was okay.

We had a good time, and the minor drawbacks were manageable. The location was excellent, close to the lake, swimming pool, and a restaurant with good home-cooked food. Our two-room studio was at the back of the building, looking out over the garden, meadow, forest, and hills. It was peaceful. The rooms were tidy, the bathroom could use some work, and the shower was basic but usable. Good bedding and decent pillows helped us sleep well. The layout made sense, with a comfortable sofa bed, two couches in the other room, and a big wardrobe with hangers and shelves. The kitchenette had pots, a new frying pan, cutlery, and plates, but could use a sharp knife, chopping board, and something to stir with that wouldn’t scratch the pan. Towels were supplied, but there wasn’t a dishcloth. I always pack a sharp knife, and we bought a chopping board and wooden spoon at a nearby Pepco. 😉
