Willa SILENE

The live mountain band downstairs gave our evenings a cosy, authentic feel, and the restaurant served genuinely delicious food with a good choice of dishes. Termy Bukovina is less than a kilometre away, and it’s one of the main reasons we keep coming back to this area. Zakopane is about 20 km away; during this visit, heavy snowfall made the town feel even more like a winter wonderland. We’ve been visiting Bukowina Tatrzańska at least twice a year for nearly 15 years, and it still feels magical for our family. We usually stay at Grand Stasinda or Hotel Bukovina, but neither had space during the school holidays. We found Willa Silene through an AMEX Travel offer and were glad we did. We booked one room with AMEX Travel and another by phone with the hotel, and the two deals were similar in value. The hotel was clean, organised and welcoming from the start. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. It’s very close to several ski resorts, where we spent four days in a row, and there’s plenty of outdoor parking, which was useful with the family and ski gear. We were on the third floor. There’s no lift, so keep that in mind if you have heavy bags or need accessible accommodation. It was manageable for us. Breakfast had a good selection of Polish food. It’s more traditional than international, which we liked, though families wanting things like baked beans may want to bring their own. One practical snag: the hotel doesn’t take American Express, even though we booked through an AMEX Travel offer. That seems common around Bukowina. It would be nice if more places accepted it, especially for those of us collecting points, but it didn’t affect our stay. The thermal baths, nearby skiing, and welcoming feel make Willa Silene a comfortable, family-friendly place with good value. We had a very pleasant stay, would recommend it to families visiting the Tatra region, and will consider coming back. Thanks to the team for looking after us.
