We booked this small, pleasant hotel at the last minute from Gdansk airport and arrived close to midnight. The staff were still friendly and helpful. The beach is about a 10-15 minute walk through the park. The beds weren't very comfortable, but staying here beat sleeping at the airport.

I wasn't staying at the hotel, so I can only comment on the restaurant. The rooms looked pretty okay when I saw them, and seemed quite spacious. I liked the food, though my Polish husband thought it was too PRL, with most of it being fish and meat in jelly. The staff were the real problem. The waitresses were mean and unhelpful, grumbling whenever they had to set down a plate, as though the narrow tables were our fault. They clearly didn't want to be there. When a mop was needed, nobody could find one, and nobody cleaned the dirty floor, so we ended up doing it ourselves. Shocking.

Breakfast was the one bright spot: the different specialties were delicious. The hotel is in Gdańsk's Przymorze district, by President Ronald Reagan Park on the Baltic coast. The reception looked warm and nicely designed, but the rooms felt sparse and dated, with old mattresses, dirty walls, and no hairdryer in the bathroom. Some room doors were partly broken and difficult to shut. I later learned the site had once housed Russian workers. All in all, a very disappointing stay. I can't recommend it unless you're looking for a cheap place.

A basic but clean hotel with a good breakfast. The sea is a 5-10 minute walk away. It takes about 30 minutes to reach central Gdansk by bus or tram, and the fare is under 1 euro per person. A good fit for travelers on a budget.
