Qubus Gdansk Hotel

The tram track nearby didn’t bother me at all, even though I’m a light sleeper, so don’t let that put you off. The location is great and the staff were consistently helpful and friendly. Breakfast was my one complaint. The main room felt too small for the number of guests, and the other room set aside for breakfast was short on comfort and amenities. It’d also be nice to have some milk in the room for those of us who drink tea. Otherwise, a great hotel all around.

The sixth-floor room was really quiet, and the Old Town is easy to reach through one underpass. We stayed Thursday to Sunday for the Gdañsk Christmas Market. There’s a tram stop right outside with a line to the main station. Check-in was easy, and the little bar area was handy for snacks and drinks when we got back from the market. Breakfast tables are limited, so I’d avoid going between 8:30 and 9:30.

We had such a lovely stay at the Qubus hotel that I’m writing this on the way to the airport so I don’t forget! The river view at breakfast was beautiful, and the continental breakfast was one of the best we’ve had in Europe. Since it was cold, they offered guests vitamin shots, one of those small touches that made us feel the hotel cares. The staff who prepared breakfast were wonderful, housekeeping was great, and everyone at reception was always pleasant and polite. A special nod to the guy in the Santa hat, little details matter. Our room was super cozy and had everything we needed. After exploring the gorgeous city, it was such a joy to sink into the soft sheets after a sauna and hot shower. We were almost sad to leave each day. Merry Christmas to everyone, and we’re looking forward to coming back!

The staff were fine and the location decent, but after three nights at Qubus, I felt the stay was a letdown for the price. I paid 4-star rates for what felt like 3-star delivery. The room I got was noticeably smaller than the photos. Breakfast and the gym were big reasons I booked, but neither lived up to the hotel’s marketing. They advertise 100+ breakfast items, yet it was an ordinary spread you’d expect at a decent 3-star hotel. Nothing wrong with it, just not worth the premium positioning. The basement gym was cramped and poorly equipped, and I took one look and left. There’s also a ventilation issue in the bathroom, so odors hang around, which is especially noticeable in a small room. I’d shop around before booking, there are better options at this price.
