Royal Residence

I can't recommend this hotel. We paid for three rooms, including a single, but my card was charged the full rate instead of the amount shown on booking.com. After trying several times to resolve it, I had to seek a refund through booking.com. There were problems during the stay too. Our shower was partly blocked, and although the owner said he'd try to fix it, he didn't. He offered another room, but changing rooms hardly seemed worthwhile for a two-night stay. The gluten-free baked goods we'd ordered for breakfast were thrown away after the first day, so there were none on the second morning. The owner also had poor communication with the staff. Three times on the night we arrived, he was told that my family would arrive after 2300, but he didn't pass the information to the late shift. When they got there, staff knew nothing about it and had to call him. He was drunk. Just not good enough. 😐

I booked at the last minute and didn't have many other options, but this little hotel turned out to be a lovely surprise. The hilltop setting gives nice views, and the location is excellent, just a few tram rides from the centre. Breakfast was one of the best I've had at a hotel in Poland. The staff were friendly, the cosy rooms were clean and had everything needed, and there's even a sauna.

I've stayed here a few times, and the rooms have always been warm and comfortable. The location is the one drawback, though the tram stop is still only a short five-minute walk away. Staff have always been friendly, day or night. Wi-Fi can be unreliable in some rooms.

My family and I stayed for four nights before our wedding in Poland, and the staff and owner did so much to make it a great experience. Marcin and Ali went above and beyond to help with all my guests arriving in Poland. We can't wait to come back, and whenever we return to Gdańsk, we'll stay with Marcin. Highly recommend.
