The only real hassle was checking in and out. Nobody was at reception when I arrived, though I was there within the allotted time. I had to call, which could be awkward with a non-Polish phone, then wait for staff to drive over. When I left, reception was empty again and there were no key instructions, so I left them in the door. The staff member I did meet was friendly. The room itself was great, very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The kitchenette is tiny, with only a kettle, so you’re pretty much limited to instant soup or noodles. There are plates and utensils, though, which are handy for takeaway food. It’s an easy walk to the lake, and there’s a bus stop right outside. I think a bus from the station stops there too. I walked from the station and it took about 20 minutes, if I remember right.

The location is excellent, and the rooms were clean. But the kitchen supplies were very limited and the refrigerator didn’t work. There was just one lamp in our room, no bedside light, and the bathroom light came on with a motion sensor. Families with children should be careful: our room had no railing, leaving a real risk of a fall. I don’t understand how a safety commission could have approved that.

We couldn’t collect the keys at the arranged time, but the owner was understanding and very friendly. She brought them to us at another place in Iława herself. The rooms were clean and spacious.

The rates are affordable, and it’s a comfortable, clean place with well-kept rooms and really good beds. There’s a little kitchenette in the room with a kettle, sink, a few dishes, cups and cutlery, plus a small fridge. It’s convenient for a few days and close to everything, though the train station is a bit farther away. What else is there to do in Iława?
