Amelia Zdroj Medical & Spa

The location near the city center was a plus, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was okay, though there wasn't much to choose from. The paid parking hadn't been cleared of snow, so we couldn't use it. We booked two rooms. One was fairly modern, clean, and didn't smell, and its bathroom looked good. The other was old and had a strong musty smell that stayed on our clothes, jackets, and even toiletry bag, despite airing it out. It was dirty too, and the bathroom was much too small, even for slim people. I'm unhappy with this choice and wouldn't stay again. The quality didn't match the price.

The place has potential, but a few things need attention. We chose it for the sauna, yet the Finnish sauna shown in the photos only reached 60 degrees Celsius. When we asked, reception said a higher temperature would blow out the gas. They then presented it as a "herbal steam" sauna, saying to pour water on the stones for steam. We felt cheated. Parking was another problem. We hadn't known it was paid, and the receptionist said all hotel spaces were already booked, so we had to park somewhere downtown and pay there too. Carrying luggage uphill from the car was hard to imagine for older people or anyone with limited mobility. These issues are likely to bring negative reviews if they aren't addressed.

The service was so friendly and wonderful, and there was plenty to choose from. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, including the meats and other products. Thank you for our stay at Amelia. I recommend it wholeheartedly, and we've already booked our next visit.

I've been here twice. The rooms are roomy and clean, and the service is excellent. Access to the spa area is included.
